Hypothyroid man with adult onset diabetes who spontaneously developed thyrotoxicosis

A 39-year-old man with primary hypothyroidism developed diabetes mellitus, which was controlled with a schedule of diet and exercise and a small dose of glipizide. On follow up he spontaneously became thyrotoxic which responded to carbimazole.
